A day for dog lovers to meet like minded people, take photos with their pups and pick up dog clothes and treats has been held at an Ecclesall Road cafe.
The Pup Up Cafe hosted their 8th Sheffield event at the Lost and Found cafe on Ecclesall Road on Sunday 3rd March.
The travelling events company usually hosts breed specific dog events across the UK, but yesterday was a special event as all breeds were welcome for an ‘All Paws’ session.
Marcus Ackford, who has owned the Pup Up Cafe for seven years, said: ‘’I wanted to merge my love for events, small businesses and dogs, which led me to this niche in the market.’’
He added: ‘’For the dogs we’ve got unlimited puppuccinos, treats, toys, and off-lead time which is good for socialisation.
“For humans we’ve got small local businesses that sell everything from snuggle-sacks and harnesses to dachshund shaped ice cube trays, as well as meeting similar minded people with similar friendly dogs. A lot of people go for walks afterwards.’’
Carly Parkin, 44, owner of Silly Sausage said: ‘’I got asked on a walk where the knitted snoods for my dachshunds came from, so I explained that I made them and then created a instagram page to show others, and it has grown from there- now I do it full time.’’
She added ‘’I’m here today to sell knitted dog fleeces, blankets, and snuggle sacks with bespoke sizes for bigger dogs or even humans, and for some I use leftover fabrics because I hate waste!’’
John, 35, and Rachel, 37, both attended the event after discovering it on Facebook.
Rachel said: ‘’We came here to socialise, which is always nice especially after Covid.’’
John added ‘’We quite like having a look around the stalls as well, especially because they are quite small businesses, we are happy to give them a helping hand.’’
The Pup Up Cafe will next be seen in Milton Keynes with two sessions, one for Dachshunds and one for all breeds of dogs.
