A monthly inner-city flower market returns to Sheffield this weekend in collaboration with the Festival of the Outdoors.
Pollen Market will bring over 30 traders to the Grey to Green Park in Castlegate, selling local produce, plants, fashion, homeware and food.
Festival of the Outdoors is taking place throughout March and has been described as a celebration of ‘the strength of Sheffield’s outdoors’. It aims to encourage activities outside and boost tourism in Sheffield.
Eleanor Sanderson, Pollen Market event manager, said: “With the start of spring, it’s where Pollen market really kicks off for the year.
“This year, will will be once again working with DC Outdoors, as part of their canoe taster sessions held on Victoria Quays, customers will receive vouchers to spend at Pollen after they have worked up an appetite on the water.”
The market will run from 10am to 4pm on Sunday. The cost for admission to the canoe taster session is £10.
There will also be live music, family entertainment, workshops and charity stalls
Ms Sanderson said: “We have dozens of fabulous makers, artists, growers and gardeners that love to share their expertise with our customers.”
Traders will include KOHLER Floristry, Giddy Kippers, Plant Crazy, The Forrest, BLOSM and Odworks Interiors.
Ms Sanderson said: “Pollen started in autumn 2021 and has only grown year after year since then. We are so proud of what Pollen has become and feel very lucky that we get to offer something like this to the people of Sheffield.”
Pollen Market takes place on the third Sunday of every month.
Ms Sanderson said: “Pollen is a grass roots, self funded event that has grown massively since our start in 2021. We are always actively looking for sponsors.”
