The 11th annual Sheffield Beer Week commences next week bringing with it a host of over 50 local events driven by a shared love of great local craft beer and food within the community.
This years theme focuses upon Sheffield as an outdoor city, as well as the link between food and beer, with the festival – which runs from 10-16 March – aiming to shine a spotlight on the outdoor city it calls home.
Organiser Jules Gray said: “We are thrilled to bring back Sheffield Beer Week and invite the community to join us in celebrating the city’s vibrant beer culture.”
Across the week events such as brewery tours and tastings, food and drink pairing sessions as well as several other community focused events make up the diverse program on offer.
Strange Britain is presenting Strange Sheffield Ghost Tours with a special Beer Week themed event being hosted by storyteller Adrian FInney from the 12th – 13th of March.
Sheffield Beer Week 2025 also aims to focus on the historical brewing heritage of the Steel City, with local historian and writer John Stocks and Dave Pickersgill editor of “Sheffield’s Real Heritage Pubs” leading a sold-out tour of Sheffield’s historical and heritage rich pubs.
Jules added: “This year, we are focusing on the unique connection between beer and food, while also honouring our city’s brewing heritage and the stunning outdoor city we call home.
“We encourage everyone to come out and experience the best of Sheffield.”
Marking the beginning of the annual week is the return of Sheffield’s own Indie Beer Fest, being held in Trafalgar Warehouse, from the 7th – 8th of March. With the weekend seeing a celebration of craft beer, wines and ciders along with a plethora of street food vendors on site.
As well as promoting local produce and community within the city, Sheffield Beer Week also champions The Everyone Welcome initiative – an initiative that aims to make pubs and venues inclusive for all.
Adrian Tierney-Jones, award-winning beer writer and British Guild of Beer Writers member, will be heading pop-up tasting events with Amelie Tassin – founder and director of Women in Beer initiative.
Across multiple local breweries, community driven events and sold out tours of the city Sheffield Beer Week seems set for its 11th consecutive year of success.
