Sheffield Action on Plastic held its spring sustainability market with eco-friendly products, food and gifts on offer.
The aim of the market was to reduce the amount of single use plastic being used in businesses and for people to become more aware of how it is damaging the planet.
Emma Davis, who attended the fair, said: “It’s good to see all the sustainable options that are here in Sheffield and where to buy them from.”
The fair, held on April 28, included pamphlets for businesses to try and adapt to a more eco-friendly approach and for how people could reduce their use of single use plastic by taking reusable water bottles, lunch boxes and bags with them when going out.

Many volunteers helped out on the day with them making sure the event ran smoothly and that everyone was enjoying themselves.
The 30 stalls at the market had a range of products from food to face products all using alternative packaging to single use plastics.
All the items at the fair are made sure to use no plastics in their products. This is due to how cosmetic companies can put plastics in their products for instance facial scrub solutions and body wash gels including rinse off plastics.
Gregg Hewitt, chair of Action on Plastic, said: “The goal of the market is to bring together local crafters and makers who themselves are considered sustainable.”
Mr Hewitt said he wanted to fight back against single use cups as it is a big problem when it comes to events. This is why he has reusable cups for hire at events which were used in the sustainability market.
At the market there was live music being played by university students on a stage which people could sit and watch to eat lunch or enjoy the music.
Many stands at the market included paper packaging and reusable products for people to start living a more sustainable lifestyle.
