Sheffield teenager with life threatening injuries after collision in ‘stable’ condition

A 15-year-old child who suffered life threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Sheffield remains in a ‘stable condition’.

The collision, which took place near the Asda Superstore in Manor Top on Saturday, involved a white Toyota Argo.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services were called to Ridgeway Road in the Manor Top area of the city at 5.48pm. The pedestrian, a 15-year-old boy, was taken to hospital after suffering life-threatening injuries.”

Police have since confirmed that the boy remains in hospital in a ‘stable’ condition.

Ridgeway Road was closed in both directions whilst the emergency services responded to the accident. It was reopened later that night.

The driver remained at the scene to assist the police and is said to have been cooperating with officers as part of their investigation.

An investigation has been launched and police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

“Officers are particularly keen for anyone who was in the area at the time of or just before the collision and anyone with relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to contact them,” the spokesperson added.
