Two brand new interactive events have been launched midweek for students just off West Street.
On Tuesday 12th April, Katie O’Brien’s Irish Tavern on Mappin Street opened their doors for a new bingo event that started at 9pm.
After an overwhelming response, the Organised Chaos team had to delay the start of the quiz by 30 minutes when software crashed.
Only 50 teams were expected to play at the launching event, but that target was massively exceeded after all tables were takes 30 minutes before the start time.
Amazingly, the team upgraded the software system and they were ready to go with over 100 teams logged in ready to go.
Finn McGrath, Organised Chaos event manager, said: “It went even better than expected, and it bought a different crowd compared to our usual events with a good turnout from both universities, which is always great to see.”
“Being so well connected with the student environment, we decided there was a gap in the market for these types of events, and. being Organised Chaos, we can take a venue and dictate the crowd that attends the event,” he added.
The bingo is all completed on an app, so it is easily accessible for all and easy to play.
The event included typical Organised Chaos themes, with a ‘dance off’ taking place during the music round and comedy prizes being given out to reward those that didn’t end their night shouting “bingo!”
Joe Beardall, Organised Chaos event manager, said: “I think St Patrick’s Day really showed the potential that Katie O’Brien’s has, with an authentic Irish feel, a perfect stage, we are looking forward to seeing new faces there every week.”
Katie O’Brien’s has exploded in the UK over the last year as they now have 5 locations across the country including: Newcastle, Leicester, Birmingham, Durham and now Sheffield.
The Bingo is taking place every Tuesday at 9pm, with Katie O’Brien’s also hosting a quiz night on Thursday at 9pm.
