South Yorkshire police in search for suspect involved in Sheffield pub assault

SY Police have released a CCTV image of a man who can help them in their investigation following an assault in Crookes, Sheffield.

According to reports, on 30 March around 8.20pm, a man was struck on the head and injured at The Old Grindstone pub in Crookes. The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed by SY Police, did not suffer life-threatening injuries. The suspect fled the scene before he could be apprehended.

The Old Grindstone pub refused to comment on the incident as ‘it has been handed over to the police’.

The Old Grindstone is a historic Sheffield landmark, having been in existence for around 200 years.

SY Police are looking for a man who is described as white, of medium stocky build, around 5ft 10in tall and with short brown hair. They believe he can assist with their investigation and push it forward.

Sheffield-based organisation, True North brewery, who own the pub were reached out to for a comment. The firm owns several popular destinations in the city like Forum Kitchen + Bar, The Common Room, The Broadfield and others. It did not respond before publication.
