Murder trial set for man charged with fatal stabbing

A trial date has been set for a man charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Sheffield.

Bradley Hollis, 35, (pictured above) was fatally stabbed in Sheffield on March 16. He was found by ambulance services with stab wounds at around 3am but, despite efforts from paramedics to revive him, was pronounced dead on the scene.

Michael James, 44, was charged with murder and appeared in Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday.

James lives on Barlow Drive, the same road in which Mr Hollis died.

He is being held in custody until 30 September when his trial will be held at the court.

Det Ch Insp Thomas Woodward, who is leading the investigation said there had been an increased police presence in the local area and wanted to reassure residents.

Two police cordons were erected on Sunday, on Barlow Drive and Rivelin Valley Road, near the Roscoe Plantation allotments, as police investigations continued.

Mr Hollis’s family are being supported by specialist officers.
