A Sheffield-based fashion brand who are attracting A-list attention are expanding to larger premises in Sheffield City Centre.
Morgan Sidle, founder and owner of the fashion firm Atelier, a sustainable fashion brand based in Leah’s Yard, has seen monumental growth in recent years as he opened a new warehouse on Earl Street, City Centre.
Atelier has gathered support from famous figures such as: pop artist Billie Eilish and drummer Carlos O’Connell of Fontaines DC and Mr Sidle said; “it adds a bit of fuel to the fire”.
Atelier’s plans to expand has shown large progression already from Mr Sidle’s journey with his brand since he started up Atelier from his mum’s garden shed in Barnsley just a few years ago.
Mr Sidle said; “Originally it was my mum who taught me how to sew and then from there, I just really enjoyed making clothes.
“When I was first starting it, I didn’t really have a place in fashion that I could kind of settle into that I thought I felt represented towards”.
Atelier recently acquired a concession in Manchester with COW Vintage and plan to extend out in the UK market with locations such as: London, Birmingham, Leeds and Nottingham next on the list.
Atelier are heavily focused on their sustainable aspect to the brand by either making clothing from scratch or acquiring second-hand clothing with Mr Sidle stating; “There’s already enough clothes in the world. That’s why I like modifying and making these, old vintage kinds of garments into something new that people can wear with a modern twist.”
Each garment is a unique ‘one of one’ with Mr Sidle inspired heavily by the punk scene with his designs describing Atelier as ‘Anti-Establishment’.
Mr Sidle added; “I think sustainability in fashion definitely needs to be upheld a bit more. People deserve something different which is one of the reasons why I moderately keep the clothes affordable”.
