Watch: Clothes swap aids struggling families

A charity clothes swap which has been running for 10 years emphasises the impact the cost of living crisis has had on the community.

Organisers of the event at St Peter’s Church on Sunday said the swap was a way to provide cheap clothes to families who couldn’t afford them otherwise.

The event cost just £5 to attend, with no limit on the number of items a person could take with some taking ‘bags full’ home.

Joy Arnett, 35, who runs the event with Rebecca Marshall, 40, said: “I think people are struggling a bit more to afford essential stuff and even here if people come and can’t afford to pay the £5 we won’t turn them away.”
