A popular chicken chain backed by US superstar Drake has opened a new store in Sheffield, the first of its kind in Yorkshire.
Dave’s Hot Chicken opened its doors in Cambridge Street last Friday and has already had visitors from around the world.
Opening day saw very big queues, with sales believed to be around £10,000 per day and the first hundred customers received free sliders.
Assistant manager Kelsey said: “We have had good control, not had any problems yet.
“We have had a lot of 5-star reviews and feeling really happy about it.”
Sue Winter is one of the 140 people who have left a five-star online review and posted: “Great food, great flavour, and great service at Dave’s Hot Chicken.
“Chicken was juicy, seasoning on point, and everything tasted fresh.
“Staff were so friendly, a special mention to Joanna who served us.
“Even though it was busy, the atmosphere was still very chilled- which shows great management and a supportive team. Coming back!!”

The American fast-food chain opened its first stores in the UK in 2024 and currently have nine stores in the country with more than 50 planned to open in the next year.
Popular menu items include chicken tenders, sliders, cheese fries and indulgent shakes including flavours such as Lucky Charms and M&Ms.
Gokul Loganathan, another five-star reviewer, posted: “Honestly, if you haven’t tried Dave’s Hot Chicken yet you’re seriously missing out because the place is exquisite.
“I just went and the quality of the chicken is top tier!! it’s clearly not your average fast-food bird”.
Shift runner Kirk has said opening weekend has been “really busy” with the most popular menu item being the “reaper” which is the hottest spice they do. He added: “It’s been chaotic with the number of customers that we have had.
“It’s really exciting, we have had people fly from America just to try the food.”
The new store is open now on 8/10 Cambridge Street, Sheffield City Centre,
S1 4HP between the hours of 11:00am- 11:00pm Monday to Thursday, 11;00AM – 01:00pm Friday-Saturday and then 11:00am – 10:00pm on Sundays.
