A six-month old pop up cafe Iced has moved to a new permanent location in Meadowhall shopping centre.
Iced was opened to quench the thirst of the customers queing for beauty store Sephora when in launched in July last year.
Their social media presence on Tik Tok and Instagram further promoted the cafe, gaining followers and new customers.
Molly Williams, aged 21, a barista at Iced said, “A lot of our customers are so prominent on social media, that’s how we got our voice across in the first place. I think it was really important that it did get shared via social media so much.”
The success of being able to achieve a permanent location in the shopping centre has been a big achievement for the company, after only expecting to be open for six months.
Now sitting at one of the busiest entrances in Meadowhall, next to M&S the cafe is filled with new and regular customers.
Molly said, “We’re very lucky because even though we’re in the middle of a shopping centre, we have a lot of customers that are coming in regularly and it’s nice to see that they’re coming to Meadowhall to come to Iced.”
19 year old student, Rebecca Zargham-Nejad, said, “Iced is one of my go to places when me and my friends go to Meadowhall, I think the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are very friendly.”
Following the success of their pop up Iced have also expanded their business, opening a new cafe in Liverpool at the end of November last year.
Molly Williams also said, “It’s been an achievement in itself that we kind of have gone from pretty much nothing to creating Iced permanently.”
