Police are investigating the deaths of an 82 year old man and a 78 year old woman in a bungalow property in Doncaster

On the 26th April, both officers and ambulance crews were notified to a property in Brockenhurst Road in Hatfield Doncaster, after reports of an elderly couple with “serious injuries”. They got to the scene around 7:50pm Sunday evening.

Despite best efforts, the couple were pronounced dead at the scene.

Since the discovery, tributes have been made to the couple and well wishes sent to the family affected. Though the identities of the family and the victims have not been released yet.

Police have started their investigation into the pensioners’ deaths, but they do not believe there has been foul play. The victims’ family have been informed and are being supported by family liaison officers, they have asked for privacy during this time.

Detective Chief Inspector Ben Wood, the senior investigating officer said that their forces were keeping an “open mind” as they continue to investigate

He said: “Our investigation is ongoing and we are working hard to understand the circumstances surrounding what happened.

“We’ll be led by the evidence. However at this time we’re not looking for anyone else in connection with these deaths.

“We understand this incident may come as a shock to those in the local community and beyond, and our thoughts are very much with the loved ones affected.

“Officers remain in the area at this time and if you do have any concerns please do stop and speak to them.”

There was a scene set in place at Brockenhurst road late yesterday evening, 28th April, in the area of the incident.
