An engineering firm has raised over \u00a33000 through fundraising for a food bank in Rotherham.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wakefield-based engineering consultancy firm Pell Frischmann have recently participated in and organised events to raise money for Rotherham Foodbank. The firm have raised over \u00a33000 through participation in the Sheffield Business Fives charity game and their own bake sale.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company participated alongside sixteen other businesses in the annual charity five-a-side football tournament on the 16th February, placing second in their league, and contributing to an overall prize pot of money, the majority of which went towards Rotherham Hospice. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kevin Boamah, Marketing & Communications Manager at Pell Frischmann said: “It\u2019s about giving back to the community.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Boamah added that they \u2018acknowledge that Covid was a hard time, and even harder for the homeless and those that couldn\u2019t eat\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The food bank provides its users with crisis food parcels that include food and non-food sanitary products.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reginald Marsh, 72, who lives in Boston Castle, is one of many local residents who have started using the food bank over the past year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Marsh said: \u201cThings have been so tough lately, what with prices going up, and the food bank has been a bit of a lifeline for me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added: \u201cThe people at the foodbank have been very nice to me. They always greet me with a smile and help get me the essentials I need each week. Without them I don\u2019t know what I\u2019d do.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pell Frischmann has an active role in Rotherham, having recently finished work at Ickles Lock as part of the Rotherham Renaissance Flood Alleviation Scheme, a council initiative to mitigate the risks of extreme flooding along the River Don and its tributaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This isn\u2019t the first time that Pell Frischmann has contributed towards the Foodbank, donating \u00a35000 over the Christmas period in 2022. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
