Sheffield Wednesday fans are planning to protest before the game tonight against Leeds after further frustrations with the club’s owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leaflets will be handed out from 6.30pm around the stadium and the protest against Dejphon Chansiri will be carried out as the players enter the pitch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans plan to wave the leaflets as the players walk out and then again as they line-up to kick off.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1867 Group, organisers of the protest, said on social media: \u201c’If you want me to sell, I’ll sell’ – Stick to your word Dejphon Chansiri, enough is enough, back the team, not the regime.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chansiri has been in ownership of the club since 2015, a tenure which has overseen \u00a3140m in losses, with an added \u00a372m in debt. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The club also faced a points deduction in the 2020-21 season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The owner has since been on record asking the fans for \u00a32m to help the club with outstanding debts and covering players wages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This otherwise would have sent the club into administration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheffield Wednesday rank above sides such as Southampton and Leicester in season ticket prices which fans have branded as unfair due to the club having been promoted to the league just last season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1867 group added: \u201cThis is unsustainable. We as fans have been asked to put money into the club, which again proven by the figures, we have done, time and time again. This at some of the highest prices in the division.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite a recent upturn in results under manager Danny R\u00f6hl who has overseen five wins in his last six games, fans are still not letting Chansiri off the hook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a post on X, one fan said: \u201cThis season shouldn\u2019t have been about Dejphon, but he always has to make it that way. The man even had to lift the trophy last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve shown as a fanbase that we won\u2019t be pushed over any longer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheffield Wednesday currently sit 23rd in the championship with 10 games remaining to avoid the drop and further financial ruin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
