{"id":51240,"date":"2024-04-23T15:27:07","date_gmt":"2024-04-23T15:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/?p=51240"},"modified":"2024-04-23T15:27:07","modified_gmt":"2024-04-23T15:27:07","slug":"new-south-yorkshire-police-survey-finds-distressing-figures-of-low-morale-amongst-officers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/index.php\/2024\/04\/23\/new-south-yorkshire-police-survey-finds-distressing-figures-of-low-morale-amongst-officers\/","title":{"rendered":"New South Yorkshire police survey finds distressing figures of low morale amongst officers."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over 80% of South Yorkshire police officers have experienced low mood or stress in the past year, according to the Police Federation of England.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pay was also highlighted as an issue as 83% said they felt financially worse off than a year ago and 17% felt they \u2018never or almost never\u2019 had the funds for essentials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">60 percent of respondents from South Yorkshire Police reported worrying about the state of their finances \u2018every day\u2019 or \u2018almost every day&#8217;.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lauren Poultney, the Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police said : \u2018\u2019While South Yorkshire Police officers hold tremendous amounts of professionalism and passion for the job, I know times are hard for everyone at the moment and this includes my workforce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;I recognise that the ongoing cost of living crisis has impacted the lives of our officers &#8211; not just financially but also in terms of their mental health and wellbeing.
