A renowned sommelier has decided to use his expertise and open his wine store, ‘Barks Wines’, in Leah’s Yard located in Sheffield City centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The wine shop will be situated inside Leah’s Yard, which is next to Cambridge Street Collective and opposite the old John Lewis store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With five years of experience as a sommelier, Charles Cornelius will offer a carefully curated selection of wines catering to both enthusiasts and newcomers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The wine establishment’s opening is yet to be confirmed, but Mr Cornelius hopes it will be opened at the start of April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said he chose to open his shop in Sheffield because of its attitude towards small businesses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said: “It celebrates independents and really champions them over chains.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He plans to offer a range of events, including a paint and sip night and themed wine tastings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr Cornelius said: “There is so much more wine than what you can buy from the supermarket.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said he would use his knowledge and experience to guide people into exploring new wines and trying things they never usually would. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although he initially set his sights on opening a wine shop, his long-term aspirations extend beyond that with his want to eventually open his own wine bar.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
