Cheeba Cheeba in Chesterfield Road, Sheffield, is at risk of being shut down permanently if it cannot raise \u00a350,000 in three months to buy the building they are situated in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Customers said it has been a \u2018pillar of the community\u2019 for five years. The shop offers support to those recovering from injury, suffering with terminal illness and overall focuses on being a welcoming and accepting caf\u00e9 to all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It has overwhelmingly positive reviews on social media, being described as a \u2018place of love\u2019 and \u2018the calmest place in Sheffield\u2019. One visitor said \u2018I haven\u2019t been in a caf\u00e9 so welcoming.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cheeba Cheeba owner, Ricky Chu, said: “We are not asking for a handout, we are asking for a lifeline to keep this space alive.”\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He has pledged to repay everyone who donates to help save the cafe – either through money, CBD or coffee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
A frequent user of the caf\u00e9 said: \u201cHe is always welcoming and genuinely a really nice guy.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I sit in the caf\u00e9 for hours and people come and go, and I see how he is with everyone. I’ve never met someone as humble and kind as this guy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Alongside donations to the GoFundMe, the shop is also selling prints in store, and is even auctioning a black fender acoustic guitar to secure its future. The GoFundMe is currently at 9% of its final target goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ricky said on social media: \u201cThe love and generosity from this community has been overwhelming- every single donation, share and kind word has kept our hope alive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
