{"id":57880,"date":"2026-02-26T10:58:39","date_gmt":"2026-02-26T10:58:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/?p=57880"},"modified":"2026-02-26T11:36:37","modified_gmt":"2026-02-26T11:36:37","slug":"viral-chicken-shop-opens-first-store-in-sheffield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/index.php\/2026\/02\/26\/viral-chicken-shop-opens-first-store-in-sheffield\/","title":{"rendered":"Viral chicken shop opens first store in Sheffield"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>A popular chicken chain backed by US superstar Drake has opened a new store in Sheffield, the first of its kind in Yorkshire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dave\u2019s Hot Chicken opened its doors in Cambridge Street last Friday and has already had visitors from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opening day saw very big queues, with sales believed to be around \u00a310,000 per day and the first hundred customers received free sliders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assistant manager Kelsey said: \u201cWe have had good control, not had any problems yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe have had a lot of 5-star reviews and feeling really happy about it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sue Winter is one of the 140 people who have left a five-star online review and posted: \u201cGreat food, great flavour, and great service at Dave&#8217;s Hot Chicken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cChicken was juicy, seasoning on point, and everything tasted fresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cStaff were so friendly, a special mention to Joanna who served us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cEven though it was busy, the atmosphere was still very chilled- which shows great management and a supportive team. Coming back!!\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"311\" height=\"388\" src=\"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-2026-02-26-105520.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57884\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-2026-02-26-105520.png 311w, https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/Screenshot-2026-02-26-105520-240x300.png 240w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 311px) 100vw, 311px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The American fast-food chain opened its first stores in the UK in 2024 and currently have nine stores in the country with more than 50 planned to open in the next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Popular menu items include chicken tenders, sliders, cheese fries and indulgent shakes including flavours such as Lucky Charms and M&amp;Ms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gokul Loganathan, another five-star reviewer, posted: \u201cHonestly, if you haven\u2019t tried Dave\u2019s Hot Chicken yet you\u2019re seriously missing out because the place is exquisite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u201cI just went and the quality of the chicken is top tier!! it\u2019s clearly not your average fast-food bird\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Shift runner Kirk has said opening weekend has been \u201creally busy\u201d with the most popular menu item being the \u201creaper\u201d which is the hottest spice they do.
