{"id":57925,"date":"2026-02-27T16:54:46","date_gmt":"2026-02-27T16:54:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/?p=57925"},"modified":"2026-02-27T18:23:40","modified_gmt":"2026-02-27T18:23:40","slug":"millhouse-park-vets-raise-money-for-charity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/index.php\/2026\/02\/27\/millhouse-park-vets-raise-money-for-charity\/","title":{"rendered":"Millhouses vet staff to run Sheffield Half Marathon to raise money for charity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Staff from a Millhouses veterinary practice are set to run the Sheffield Half Marathon to raise money for charity this March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catherine Farmery, 40, a receptionist at Park Veterinary Hospital and Katie Limb, 45, a vet, will be raising money for St Lukes Hospice and Sheffield Children&#8217;s Hospital. They are each aiming to raise \u00a31000 for their chosen charity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catherine is running for St Luke&#8217;s Hospice, a charity that cares for terminally ill adults. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said, &#8220;I just think they&#8217;re an incredible charity who help so many people and their families and I just think any one of us could be in that position one day.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>St Luke&#8217;s cared for Catherine&#8217;s uncle when he was ill as well as a friend&#8217;s mother who suffered from motor neurone disease. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Katie will be running for Sheffield Children&#8217;s Hospital who cared for her daughter when she broke her arm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catherine said, &#8220;That&#8217;s a really good charity as well so any donations for Katie would be appreciated.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite having run the Percy Pud 10K together last December this will be the longest run the pair have committed to. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catherine and Katie are training weekly with personal trainer Joe Patterson from Passion To Progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image1-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-57934\" style=\"width:530px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image1-980x735.jpeg 980w, https:\/\/shef-live.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/image1-480x360.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Catherine and Katie with their personal trainer Joe Patterson.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Catherine said, &#8220;As it comes closer I&#8217;m getting more nervous,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I know the support is going to be incredible and that will really get me going. It will really make me emotional but I&#8217;m excited, I think the adrenaline will take over and I&#8217;ll just power through.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their family and friends will be coming out to support them on the day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catherine said, &#8220;I&#8217;m definitely going to smash the target,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;The group that we work for will put a percentage of whatever we raise towards that as well so that&#8217;s really good,&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Catherine spoke about her experience with St Luke&#8217;s Hospice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said, &#8220;The care and compassion that everybody receives, including family members, is second to none and they are an absolute credit to the city.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Staff from a Millhouses veterinary practice are set to run the Sheffield Half Marathon to raise money for charity this March.
