Grosvenor House in the city centre was left damaged after protesters smashed windows and revolving doors, and threw red paint over the walls of the building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Messages written in red paint read \u2018free Palestine\u2019 and \u2018drop Elbit\u2019, a criticism of the bank\u2019s investment in Israeli military companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HSBC is reported to hold around \u00a36 Million worth of shares in Elbit, an Israel-based company which specialises in military electronics, drones and multi-domain security solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eleven other HSBC chains have been targeted in UK cities by a group known as \u2018People against Genocide\u2019, who commonly smash windows, spray paint walls, and criticise the Bank\u2019s ties to the Israeli military.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clean up work is underway after protesters vandalised the offices, resulting in potentially hundreds of thousands in damages.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those attacks took place at the end of 2025 into January 2026, and the group has remained relatively quiet since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A police statement confirmed it was a group of masked individuals who carried out the attack, who were seen leaving the area on foot in the direction of Pound\u2019s Park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HSBC staff refused to comment on the incident outside their offices this morning, and the bank is yet to make a statement to the press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A large cleanup vehicle was parked outside the building today, and several workers were present cleaning the paint that had been flung over the walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
