Sheffield is set to receive just over \u00a31m from Sheffield Hallam University as part of an initiative to increase physical activity in Sheffield.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Due to it’s partnership with the National Centre for Exercise Medicine (NCSEM), Sheffield Hallam University has been allocated funding by Sport England as a part of it’s Place Expansion<\/em> programme from April 2026 to March 2028.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a part of this initiative Sheffield’s Move Mor<\/em>e programme will be expanded to meet increasing demand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Move More <\/em>is a physical activity strategy aimed at increasing physical activity in Sheffield through long term systematic change rather than short term intervention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n First launched in 2015, it’s most recent strategies were developed by members of NCSEM, Sheffield Hallam University, Yorkshire Sport Foundation and the NIHR School for Public Health Research. <\/p>\n\n\n\n A recent proposal has suggested Sheffield City council enter a grant agreement with Sheffield Hallam University, recieving over \u00a31 million in order to implement two work programmes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n As a part of these programmes Sheffield City Council take will target five priority areas, Firth Park, Woodthorpe, Arbourthorne, Batemoor and Jordanthorne to increase staffing capacity and direct investment in community services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n An agreement will be made on whether or not to accept the funding on Monday 23rd March. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Sheffield is set to receive just over \u00a31m from Sheffield Hallam University as part of an initiative to increase physical activity in Sheffield.
