Concert goer left heartbroken after car broken into during James Arthur gig at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena

A woman was left heartbroken after her car was raided by thieves while she watched a James Arthur concert at Sheffield’s Utilita Arena.

Molly Page, 23, who works for community first responder charity Lives, was attending the gig on 14 February when her Audi A3 parked nearby on Arena Court outside Barclays was broken into.

She said: ”It’s a funny story really, I didn’t realise right away.”

The car had no visible signs of break-in and CCTV later revealed the thief approached the car and opened the back door and reached into the boot to retrieve several bags.

She said: ”It seemed like he went straight up to my car which was really odd.

Two Adidas duffle bags and a beige rucksack were taken which included two overnight bags Miss Page used while staying at her partner’s in Clowne.

These contained makeup, hair straighteners, clothes and work uniform.

She said the thief however, left a designer Micheal Kors handbag.

”I was heartbroken, I’ve never had anything stolen in 23 years,” Molly added.

Also taken were a cross necklace from Molly’s late grandfather and a second necklace that was the first gift she had received from her partner.

Bizarrely the first four letters were also taken off the car’s number plate, but the last three were left.

She said: “They showed me the CCTV and he’s gone straight up to my car, opened the back door, put the seats down, alarms were going off and he’s just closed the door and went round the front and took letters off my numberplate then just walked off. Didn’t attempt any car nearby.

”Seems very targeted.”

The car was under three CCTV cameras but the one facing most clearly in view of the car which could have revealed the man’s identity was not working.

”He didn’t take the wallet or any of my partner’s items even though they’re more of value to a man and were in view,” she added.

On 18 February two of the bags were handed into the police by a HGC driver who had found them left in the road. The things left in these bags included Miss Page’s work uniform and ID. There’s been no updates to the case since.
