Pubs and bars around Sheffield are hosting a range of events this week, in celebration of the city’s ‘renowned brewing industry’, and ‘legendary electronic music heritage’.
Several events have already taken place: beer launches at pubs on Kelham Island, a beer blending session at Hop Hideout on Cambridge Street, and a celebration of Czech beers at Kapital Beer Hall.
Celebrations are taking place across the entire week, as pubs across the city will be serving limited edition beers, and breweries will be taking over bars to celebrate launches.
One pub taking part is the award winning and Guinness ‘Harp Guide’ member Dog & Partridge, who are celebrating their Irish heritage with a ‘celebration of dark beers’, in which customers will be able to try a range of stouts, black IPAs and dark lagers.

Lily Hunter, assistant manager at Dog & Partridge said: “I think it’s a nice opportunity to let people try things they might not normally try
“Pubs are a dying industry, so it’s exciting to have things to talk about, Sheffield’s got some incredible independent breweries, so its nice to celebrate that
“A lot of people have travelled quite far specifically for beer week, so its great for tourism too”

It’s estimated that roughly one pub shuts its doors for good in the UK every day, so locals will hope that festivals and events like this can help to rejuvenate the industry.
The festival is also celebrating Sheffield’s legendary music scene this year, with the tagline of the week being ‘Sheffield Synth City’.
A spokesperson for the event said: “Sheffield Synth City allows us to blend the creativity of our independent breweries with the ground-breaking spirit of our electronic music pioneers.
“The city’s breweries will pay homage to Sheffield’s electronic music heritage, home to pioneers of synth-pop, including The Human League and Heaven 17.”
In celebration of the city’s cultural connection to music, local breweries have created a range of blends that are ‘inspired by classic electronic genres and iconic Sheffield bands’
The week continues until the 15th March, and an events list can be found at Sheffield Beer Week 2026 Full Events List – Sheffield Beer Week
